Spare Note — Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 4, 2026
Spare Note does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind.
Your notes stay on your Mac
Everything you type in Spare Note is stored locally on your Mac. The app is sandboxed and has no network access — it cannot send data anywhere, and it never does.
Encryption
If you turn on encryption, your notes are encrypted on your Mac with a key stored in your Mac's Keychain. The key never leaves your device, and we have no copy of it. The 24-word recovery phrase shown when you enable encryption is generated on your device and is known only to you.
Touch ID
Spare Note uses Touch ID (or your password) only to confirm it's you before revealing your recovery phrase. Authentication is handled entirely by macOS; Spare Note never sees or stores your biometric data.
Changes to this policy
If Spare Note's privacy practices ever change, this policy will be updated and the effective date revised before any such change takes effect.
